Instant gratification. That's what I like most about cooking. You have a few ingredients, you put them together... twenty minutes later your senses are elevated and you are tasting flavors that you created. And, hopefully, your creation can then be shared with friends. The chopping, the scooping, the slicing, searing and roasting. The smells, the flavors, the textures. The sharing and enjoying. Every last bit of it brings joy.
